Christel House
As a company, Breckenridge Grand Vacations thrives because of the tight-knit community that we are so blessed to be a part of. And because we've been so blessed, we do our best to help others as much as possible. From cleaning up the trails in Summit County, to sponsoring local events and fundraisers, we are dedicated to lending a helping hand whenever we can.
For the past several years, we have been honored to co-host the Christel House Open with the Christie Lodge of Avon, CO. This years' tournament was held at the Breckenridge Golf Club, and was one of our most successful tournaments to date! We received tremendous support from local business owners who donated items and services that were featured in our tent sale and Tricky Tray. We had a great turnout of golfers, as well as BGV and Christie Lodge employees who donated their time to make sure the event was a success.
And what a success it was - we raised more than $32,000! Christel House encourages each host to donate a portion of the proceeds to a local charity, so Breckenridge Grand Vacations was able to present The Summit Foundation with a check for almost $10,000. This donation will assist The Summit Foundation's efforts to continue to improve the quality of life for residents and guests of Summit County and neighboring communities by distributing grants and scholarships to other local non-profits.
The Christel House Open, which is an international golf tournament, took place at 14 tournament sites spanning four countries this year. The tournament is considered to be the largest multi-day charity golf tournament in the world and has raised more than $1 million in its 10-year history. In addition to proceeds given to local charities surrounding the different local tournaments, the charity benefits more than 3,200 children in four countries break the cycle of poverty to become educated and self sufficient members of their own societies.
"We are ecstatic about the results of this year's event." said Kit Armour, co-chair of the local tournament and Executive Director of Resort Operations for Breckenridge Grand Vacations. "We are so proud of all the volunteers, participants and our employees for contributing to such a great cause that truly changes people's lives around the world."
We are proud to be a part of this community and we will continue to help make it a great place for you to vacation.
