Work Tip
There is absolutely no room for the “blame game” in a successful customer-oriented business. It may temporarily let you off the hook to say “It’s not my job,” or “It wasn’t my fault,” but in the long run it will only undermine the effectiveness and reputation of the entire business.
Take the time to get to know what other departments do and how they do it, then instead of blaming another department for slipping up on something, think through how you might help them become better at what they do. And if you have the power, go ahead and fix it yourself, and just let the other department know what you did. They will appreciate it, but it still serves as a subtle reminder for them to stay on top of things. |
